Netflix highlights for May 2021
Army of the Dead (21/05/2021)
Zack Snyder's highly anticipated return to the zombie genre is almost upon us with Netflix's Army of the Dead. Set after a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, the film sees a group of mercenaries led by Scott Ward (Dave Bautista) venture into the zombie-riddled quarantine zone in order to pull off the greatest and most dangerous heist ever. Unfortunately for them, they'll have to face off against an evolved breed of zombie that's faster, smarter and more organised than anything we saw in Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake.
Jupiter's Legacy (07/05/2021)
Based on the comic series by celebrated author Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, The Secret Service), the Netflix Original adaptation of Jupiter's Legacy is about the troubles that arise when the world's first generation of superheroes are forced to pass the torch to their arrogant, entitled children. Stars Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels and Leslie Bibb.
Love, Death & Robots: Volume 2 (14/05/2021)
From the demented minds of Tim Miller (Deadpool) and David Fincher (Fight Club) comes Love, Death & Robots: Volume 2, featuring another outrageous anthology of provocative animated short films. Be warned, these are strictly for adults only.
Master of None: Season 3 (Coming soon)
While it doesn't have an exact release date yet, Netflix has confirmed to us that Master of None's third season, subtitled 'Moments in Love', will arrive during May 2021. Unlike previous seasons, star Aziz Ansari will not be at the centre of season 3, opting instead to focus on his directing and co-writing duties. This time, the show will follow the character of Denise (Lena Waithe). You can check out the teaser above to get an idea of what that will be like.
Castlevania: Season 4 (13/05/2021)
In its fourth and final season, Netflix's anime original series Castlevania will see Dracula's influence grow even larger as Belmont and Sypha investigate plans to resurrect the infamous vampire. Meanwhile, Alucard struggles to embrace his humanity. We expect things to get seriously bloody.
